In the spring of 2012, TGSA launched the Warriors Football program, as a new addition to the True Grit Sports Academy. This program was designed to assist our academy’s football athlete achieve their football goals. As a result, our Warriors qualified (TGSA-Quick 6-football passing tournament) to participate in the IMG/John Madden - 7 on 7 - football passing championships, in Sarasota Florida.
With only 11 members, we entered the competition of 25 teams from all over the country. Once we arrived, we noticed we may be out manned. However, we discovered we were not out gunned. We faced teams with 25 or more athletes on every team - everyday. Further, most, if not all of our opponents were sending 4 and 5 star athletes to every known college football conference in the nation. As the youngest team, we returned all of athletes back to high school. Our style of play and our physical preparation, helped us finish the tournament ranked 12th of 25.
